\nThe association Pro Maniago organizes the first and second Historical exhibition and fair of Maniago knife producers.<\/p>\n

24th November, Casa della Giovent\u00f9<\/strong>
\nThe Museum Foundation Committee organises the conference \u201cA Museum in Maniago\u201d.<\/p>\n

We should create a dynamic structure that allows the community to learn about its history, that provides the drive for a range of studies and non-superficial researches into the world of knifemakers, and that supports a modern school. Not a dead hub, but a living and vital centre that actively participates in the cultural and social development of the town.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

\nBy City Council Resolution No. 28, the Museum of Blacksmiths\u2019 Art and Cutlery is formally instituted, based in the former Spinning Mill, in Via Battiferri No. 1.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>

20th April<\/strong>
\nBy City Council Resolution No. 25, the Statute of the Museum of Blacksmiths\u2019 Art and Cutlery is approved.<\/p>\n

20th April<\/strong>
\nBy City Council Resolution No. 26, the agreement with the Association for the Promotion of Blacksmith\u2019s Art to manage the Museum of Cutlery is approved.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>

The Museum operates in the former Spinning Mill.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>

2004<\/h4>\n

26th February<\/strong>
\nProf. Roberta Altin of the Department of Economics, Society and Territory of the University of Udine presents \u201cCoricama: a museum anthropology project for the Museum of Blacksmiths\u2019 Art and Cutlery of Maniago\u201d, the foundation for the set-up of the exhibition in the new premises of the former Coricama factory.<\/p>\n

\n

The museum takes on not only the task of collecting, preserving and enhancing exhibits and testimonies, thus retrieve past tradition. It also aims at being the place where to reconstruct the scientific knowledge, and the technical and operational know-how in their production and use contexts. Hence, while starting from local traditions, it will help visitors to gain awareness about the evolutions and transformations […], in order to understand the dynamics behind the change.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The relocation of the Museum of Blacksmiths\u2019 Art and Cutlery to the former Co.Ri.Ca.Ma. factory is completed.

\nThe new set-up of the Museum of Blacksmiths\u2019 Art and Cutlery opens: ground floor, sections 1 and 2.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>
