The Small Museum of a typical Carnia house<\/strong><\/p>\n

Located near the church of Pesariis (a borough of Prato Carnico), Casa Bruseschi has been the residence of one of the villae\u2019s oldest and wealthiest families since the 17th century.
\nIn 1963, as a legacy of the last owner Dorina Bruseschi, the house became property of the Sts. Philip and James\u2019 Parish and was opened to visitors as a testimony to life in Carnia between 1700s and 1800s.
\nThe building, a three-storey terraced house, its furniture, furnishings and paraphernalia recall the events and habits of a wealthy family and give the chance to visitors to dive into its ancient rural context.
\nEntering the ground floor, on the right there is a small sitting room used to receive guests. On the left, the kitchen with its typical “fogol\u00e2r\u201d (Friulian, fireplace). It was the centre of family life, where food was cooked, people kept warm sitting around and chatting and knowledge was passed on from one generation to the next. Down the corridor the dining room displays the fine ceramics of the \u201cGalvani\u201d manufacture from Pordenone.
\nUp the stairs, valuable wedding chests and an inlaid cupboard dating from 1741.
\nOn the left, the notary’s office, with books and registers still open on the table. Next to it, the sleeping room. Across the corridor, a bathroom embellished with curtains and finely embroidered bath linen, and another room, probably a bedroom, which walls are decorated with prints depicting the life of St. Benedict engraved by Giacomo Giovannini.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>
