The road to the Castle of Maniago is a beautiful and evocative walk that in about ten minutes takes you from the city centre to the Colle di San Giacomo (St. James’ Hill), where you’ll find the ruins of the manor house.
Along the itinerary, a number of panels tell of the origin, evolution and structure of the castle site, which was built at the behest of the Patriarch of Aquileia probably in the 11th century and abandoned in the first half of the 17th century.
